It’s not unusual to want to change society. She has really shitty views on what society should be like, but that’s hardly unique to billionaires.

Think long and hard about what you actually believe, and who you actually trust, before jumping in on this one.

So who is it, do you estimate, that is campaigning so hard against a women’s right’s organization?

Think about who’s interests these sorts of campaigns serve.

I think you need to reevaluate your position. Chalking this up to “women’s rights” is disingenuous at best.

Rowling is lobbying to exclude trans women from being legally recognized as women. You’re free to pick a side there, and I’m free to call you a transphobe if you agree with her.

What cis woman is hurt by a trans woman being legally recognized as a woman?

When you have to use veiled hints instead of clearly stating your point, you either know you’re wrong or you’re ashamed of your belief.

They are an anti-women’s right organisation. Trans women are women.

They don’t need vested interests to campaign against them.

      https://www.tumblr.com/gabebell12fi/784906449407131648/when-you-write-fanfiction-there-are-no

      I thought about it.

This post (if you can see it, and if you can’t I will post a summary in a further reply – still not sure how tumblr handles this sort of thing so I do apologise in advance) was triggered by something that happened when I signed up to a different social media site.

Two days after I joined, I posted an adapted quote from Harry Potter, and was told that it was against the “implicit rules” of the site. I made it clear I wasn’t supporting the author, but that I had no desire to stop talking about Harry Potter.

I was told that it was going to be made an explicit rule, so I asked if I could delete my account, at which point I was banned and my account was deleted. Because I wanted to quote, write about and discuss Harry Potter in a positive manner. Not the author – I made that perfectly clear – just the world

I am all for boycotting the author. No merch, no books, no streaming, no cinema trips.

But activities that can’t possibly increase her wealth and bring people joy? Not to mention spread messages of equality, tolerance, freedom and such?

Yeah, that I don’t understand. And am never going to understand.
