I feel this. Gardening can be incredible and very disappointing at times. It gives you a good indication of what it would take to feed yourself from the earth and that is scary. I actually was not wild about tubers since you can’t see them so it is hard to tell if they are ready and the you can’t see bugs on them and stuff. I love beans and gourds as they did very well for me. Also lettuce. String beans and lettuce sorta keep producing and you can grab things as you care for some. Tried to do a three sisters but corn is hard. I feel I would either have to break down and use fertilizer or grow beans for a few years to prep the soil.
